Living with an Eternal Perspective: The Miracle of Transformation

Recently, I paused to reflect on the miracle of salvation—the fact that I have turned to Christ, believed wholeheartedly in who He is, what He accomplished for me, and received His gift of grace and mercy. And I believe He is coming back to get me. He will establish eternal life, a renewed earth, and heaven—and I will live in it. I didn’t earn it. I didn’t achieve it. I simply unwrapped it and put it on.

This is a miracle He has done in me for my good.

A Heart Transformed by Eternity

This miracle must reshape my heart—to think, live, behave, and love with an eternal perspective. It should radically affect how I see the people around me, especially my family and those I love. The evidence of this transformation will be my willingness to acknowledge sin for what it is and turn from it at every point in my life.

This isn’t a “poof, I’m perfect” moment. It’s a process. The Bible calls it sanctification. And when I fail, I must not be discouraged. I must turn to the hope found in the complete work of Christ on the cross and into the arms of His Holy Spirit—my Helper
(John 14:26).

The Treasure That Lasts Forever

The only treasure that will last forever is what Jesus does in us and through us—especially when we boldly allow His gospel to be shared through our lives. That’s why I pray for His wisdom and discernment about the hearts of those around me. I want to know whether Christ truly lives in them—so I’m not fooled to their loss.

Seven Habits of Eternal Success

Scripture outlines seven habits that Jesus would call true success. They’re found in
1 Thessalonians 5:16–22:

  1. Rejoice Always
  2. Pray Constantly
  3. Give Thanks in Everything
  4. Don’t Stifle the Spirit
  5. Don’t Despise Prophecies
  6. Test All Things & Hold Fast to What Is Good
  7. Stay Away from Every Kind of Evil

These habits aren’t just spiritual disciplines—they’re the fruit of a life that’s being sanctified, shaped by grace, and anchored in eternity.
